So during the 3-1/2 years of World War 2 that started with the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor in December 7, 1941 and ended with the Surrender of Germany and Japan in 1945, the U.S. produced 22 aircraft carriers, 8 battleships, 48 cruisers, 349 destroyers, 420 destroyer escorts, 203 submarines, 34 million tons of merchant ships, 100,000 fighter aircraft, 98,000 bombers, 24,000 transport aircraft, 58,000 training aircraft, 93,000 tanks, 257,000 artillery pieces, 105,000 mortars, 3,000,000 machine guns, and 2,500,000 military trucks.

 

We put 16.1 million men in uniform in the various armed services, invaded Africa, invaded Sicily and Italy, won the battle for the Atlantic, planned and executed D-Day, marched across the Pacific and Europe, developed the atomic bomb and ultimately conquered Japan and Germany.

 

It's worth noting, that during the almost exact amount of time, the entire Obama administration couldn't build a functioning web site.

The "Affordable Boat Act"

The U.S. government has just passed a new law called: "The affordable boat act" declaring that every citizen MUST purchase a new boat, by April 2014. These "affordable" boats will cost an average of $54,000-$155,000 each. This does not include taxes, trailers, towing fees, licensing and registration fees, fuel, docking and storage fees, maintenance or repair costs.

This law has been passed, because until now, typically only wealthy and financially responsible people have been able to purchase boats. This new laws ensures that every American can now have a "affordable" boat of their own, because everyone is "entitled" to a new boat. If you purchase your boat before the end of the year, you will receive 4 "free" life jackets; not including monthly usage fees.

In order to make sure everyone purchases an affordable boat, the costs of owning a boat will increase on average of 250-400% per year. This way, wealthy people will pay more for something that other people don't want or can't afford to maintain. But to be fair, people who cant afford to maintain their boat will be regularly fined and children (under the age of 26) can use their parents boats to party on until they turn 27; then must purchase their own boat.

If you already have a boat, you can keep yours (just kidding; no you can't). If you don't want or don't need a boat, you are required to buy one anyhow. If you refuse to buy one or cant afford one, you will be regularly fined $800 until you purchase one or face imprisonment.

Failure to use the boat will also result in fines. People living in the desert; ghettos; inner cities or areas with no access to lakes are not exempt. Age, motion sickness, experience, knowledge nor lack of desire are acceptable excuses for not using your boat.

A government review board (that doesn't know the difference between the port, starboard or stern of a boat) will decide everything, including; when, where, how often and for what purposes you can use your boat along with how many people can ride your boat and determine if one is too old or healthy enough to be able to use their boat. They will also decide if your boat has out lived its usefulness or if you must purchase specific accessories,(like a $500 compass) or a newer and more expensive boat.
Those that can afford yachts will be required to do so...its only fair. The government will also decide the name for each boat. Failure to comply with these rules will result in fines and possible imprisonment.

Government officials are exempt from this new law. If they want a boat, they and their families can obtain boats free, at the expense of tax payers. Unions, bankers and mega companies with large political affiliations ($$$) are also exempt.

Unbelievable, but the speech below was written in 1899! (check Wikipedia - The River War).
The attached short speech from Winston Churchill, delivered by him in 1899 when he was a young soldier and journalist (24 years of age). Then you have the racial grievance industry with CEOs of Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson. Their entire lifestyle and income is based on ginning up phony racial tension. Obama of course tries to stir the racial pot whenever he thinks it will benefit him. Anyone who dares disagree with Obama on anything is automatically branded a racist. But lets not forget the corrupt liberal progressive biased media. All during the George Zimmerman case, they tried to make Trayvon Martin look like some innocent little school kid, show pictures of him when he was just 12 years old. They also tried to make George Zimmerman out to be some evil racist hunting down black people. Current pictures of Trayvon Martin show him flipping off screens, wearing gangsta rap style clothes and a hoodie. Of course, the only current picture the media showed of Trayvon Martin was him in the hoodie as that became the staple of the race mongers theme. Whatever you think of the George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin case is your opinion. Many people thought OJ Simpson was guilty of killing Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman, but he got off. Did those evil white people riot, and start beating blacks after the verdict? No. Of course, that was just a couple of years after the blacks started rioting when they didn’t like the Rodney King verdict.

It was going to be 100 feet tall and 400 feet wide, with 9 gun turrets at various heights, and windows all over the place and a loud outdoor entertainment sound system.

It would have parking for 20 cars, and I was going to paint it snot green with pink trim. 

The City Council told me; “Forget it...AIN'T  GONNA HAPPEN!”; 
 
I sent in the application again, but this time I called it a 'Mosque'.

Go to Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq or Iran illegally. Never mind immigration quotas, visas, international law, or any of that nonsense.  Demand a free house, benefits and food.

Once there, demand that the local government provide free medical care for you and your entire family.

C.

Demand that all nurses and doctors be fluent in English, and that all food served to you in the hospital, be cooked according to your specifications.

D.

Demand free local government forms, bulletins, etc be printed in English.

E.

Procreate abundantly.

F.

Deflect any criticism of this allegedly irresponsible reproductive behaviour with, 'It is a cultural thing; you wouldn't understand.'

G.

Keep your original identity strong.

Fly your home country's national flag from your rooftop, or proudly display it in your front window, or on your car bumper.

H.

Speak only English at home and in public, and make sure that your children do likewise.

I.

Demand classes on English culture in the Muslim school system.

J.

Demand a local country driving license and auto insurance

The aptly named Sarah Slamen recently spoke to the Texas lawmakers about their radical anti-abortion law forbidding abortions after twenty weeks of pregnancy.  If my math is right, that’s half way through the pregnancy.  How dare they!

So she was the opening guest on Bill Maher’s Real Time show on 7/26/13.  During the interview the pro-abortion guest and host chatted away and Bill said, “Do you think it’s also about the fact that Texas now is, I don’t know what percentage Hispanic but –“  Here Ms. Slamen interjects “Forty…forty percent.” Bill continues, “Forty?  OK, well there you go.  I think they fear that they’re having too many babies and that’s going to lead to the re-conquista that... (audience laughs and Bill continues) right? Don’t you think that is an element?”

What?  Hispanics having too many babies is why the Texas legislature passed this radical anti-abortion bill?  Last time I looked, reducing abortions means more babies, not less. 

There is a lot more I could critique about this conversation if this were not just my hobby, but this one jumped out at me.

A Lesson in Irony

The Food Stamp Program, administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, is proud to be distributing this year the greatest amount of free Meals and Food Stamps ever, to 46 million people.

Meanwhile, the National Park Service, administered by the U.S. Department of the Interior, asks us "Please Do Not Feed the Animals." Their stated reason for the policy is because "The animals will grow dependent on handouts and will not learn to take care of themselves."

In late March 2013, 17 year old De’Marquis Elkins shot and killed a 13 month old baby who was sitting in a stroller.

Elkins shot the infant in the face after the mother refused to give him money.

He also shot the mother in the leg and the neck in Brunswick, GA.

De’Marquis Elkins is not a member of the NRA.

He did not use an assault rifle.

He did not get his stolen pistol from a gun show.

He did not attend Christian school, nor was he home schooled.

He did attend multicultural public education, and was not instructed in the Ten Commandments.

His Momma was on welfare, got food stamps, and lived in public housing.

His daddy was not around, and his two brothers have a different daddy.

He already has a record for violent crimes.

He is a gang member.

He never earned his hunter safety card, nor did he shoot CMP, Junior NRA, or 4H Air Rifle Competitions.

He was never instructed in gun safety from his father or grandfather.

He has no plans on getting married, but does have a Baby Momma, and no, he is not supporting her baby.

While he has no job, nor is he looking for one, he is well fed.

He has no skills outside of crime.

He is one of millions.

This is what we are up against. Make no mistake that people like Elkins will have their guns. There are people wanting to deny you the right to arm yourself. Your tax dollars are paying for the continuation of a system that breeds pieces of trash like this one.

 

I suppose the liberals in Canada said that they didn't want to confiscate guns either.

Goodbye Illinois

Former State Senator and Republican Cook County Board President candidate Roger Keats and his wife Tina are leaving Illinois to live in Texas. They bid farewell to their Illinois friends with the following letter.

Dear friends,

As we leave Illinois for good, I wanted to say goodbye and wish all of you
well. I am a lifelong son of the heartland and proud of "The Land of Lincoln" state.

After 60 years, I leave Illinois with a heavy heart. But enough is enough. The leaders of Illinois refuse to see we can't continue going in the direction we are and expect people who have options to stay here.

I remember when Illinois had 25 congressmen. In 2012 we will have 18. Compared to the rest of the country we have lost 1/4th of our population. Don't blame the weather, because most of us love the 4 beautiful seasons of Illinois.

Illinois just sold still more bonds, and our credit rating is so bad we pay higher interest rates than junk bonds. Junk Bonds!
Illinois is ranked:
• 50th for fiscal poliicy
• 47th in job creation
• 1st in unfunded pensiosion liabilities
• 2nd largest budget deficit
• 1st in fn failing schools
• 1st in bonded indebtedness
• Highestest sales tax in the nation
• Most judges indicted (Operations Greyylord and Gambat)

Five of our last 9 elected governors have been indicted. That is more than the other 49 states added together! Then add 32 Chicago Aldermen and according to the Chicago Tribune) over 1,000 state and municipal employees indicted.

The corruption tax is a real cost of doing business. We are the butt of jokes for stand-up comics. We live in the most corrupt big city, in the most corrupt big county, in the most corrupt state in America. I am sick and tired of subsidizing crooks. A day rarely passes without an article about the corruption and incompetence. Chicago even got caught rigging the tests to hire policemen and firemen!

Our Crook County corporate tax system is intentionally corrupt. The Democrat State Chairman, who is also the Speaker of the Illinois House (Speaker Mike Madigan), and the most senior alderman in Chicago, each make well over a million dollars a year putting the fix in for their clients tax assessments.

Cook County's property tax system is a disaster: The assessed value of our
Chicago home was 50% higher than the sale price. Our home value is down 40%, our property taxes are up 20%, and our local schools have still another referendum on the ballot to increase taxes more than 20% next year.

The Illinois system is unfair and incompetent. In the Hill Country of Texas (near Austin and San Antonio) we bought a gracious home on almost 2 acres with a swimming pool. It is new, will cost us around 40% of what our home in Wilmette just sold for, and the property taxes are a third of what they are here.

We are moving to Texas where there is no income tax, while Illinois just went up 67%. Texas sales tax is half of ours, which is the highest in the nation. Southern states are supportive of job producers, taxpayers and folks who offer opportunities to their residents. Illinois shakes them down for every penny that can be extorted from them.

I could go on, but enough is enough. I feel as if we are standing on the deck of the Titanic and I can see the icebergs right in front of us. I will miss our friends a great deal. I have called Illinois home for essentially my entire life. But it is time to go where there is honest, competent, and cost effective government. We have chosen to vote with our feet and our wallets.

Dear Editor:

So many letter writers have based their arguments on how this land is made up of immigrants. Ernie Lujan for one, suggests we should tear down the Statue of Liberty because the people now in question aren't being treated the same as those who passed through Ellis Island and other ports of entry.

Maybe we should turn to our history books and point out to people like Mr. Lujan why today's American is not willing to accept this new kind of immigrant any longer.. Back in 1900 when there was a rush from all areas of Europe to come to the United States, people had to get off a ship and stand in a long line in New York and be documented. Some would even get down on their hands and knees and kiss the ground. They made a pledge to uphold the laws and support their new country in good and bad times. They made learning English a primary rule in their new American households and some even changed their names to blend in with their new home.

They had waved good bye to their birth place to give their children a new life and did everything in their power to help their children assimilate into one culture. Nothing was handed to them. No free lunches, no welfare, no labor laws to protect them. All they had were the skills and craftsmanship they had brought with them to trade for a future of prosperity.
Most of their children came of age when World War II broke out.
My father fought along side men whose parents had come straight over from Germany , Italy , France and Japan . None of these 1st generation Americans ever gave any thought about what country their parents had come from. They were Americans fighting Hitler, Mussolini and the Emperor of Japan . They were defending the United States of America as one people.
When we liberated France , no one in those villages were looking for the French-American or the German American or the Irish American. The people of France saw only Americans. And we
carried one flag that represented one country. Not one of those immigrant sons would have thought about picking up another country's flag and waving it to represent who they were. It would have been a disgrace to their parents who had sacrificed so much to be here. These immigrants truly knew what it meant to be an American. They stirred the melting pot into one red, white and blue bowl.
And here we are with a new kind of immigrant who wants the same rights and privileges. Only they want to achieve it by playing with a different set of rules, one that includes the entitlement card and a guarantee of being faithful to their mother country. I'm sorry, that's not what being an American is all about. I believe that the immigrants who landed on Ellis Island in the early 1900's deserve better than that for all the toil, hard work and sacrifice in raising future generations to create a land that has become a beacon for those legally searching for a better life. I think they would be appalled that they are being used as an example by those waving foreign country flags.
And for that suggestion about taking down the Statue of Liberty , it happens to mean a lot to the citizens who are voting on the immigration bill. I wouldn't start talking about dismantling theUnited States just yet.

Minn. Start Trib. letter to the editor

Let's look at what we have learned from this election:

Twenty-one of 22 incumbent senators were re-elected, and 353 of 373 incumbent members of the House were re-elected. The American people have re-elected 94 percent of the incumbents who were running for re-election to an institution that has an approval rating of about 9 percent. This indicates that, as an electorate, we are a nation of idiots. We're now stuck with the useless, dysfunctional government that we deserve.
